TOYO-SUN D
¥D KIT is an instrument which can examine whether
your hot rolling oil system is most efficient one or not.
Based on the result of examination, it is possible for you to confirm even and most efficient plate-out spray digitally by applying photo sensor in the TOYO-SUN D¥D KIT with minimum oil consumption. The volume of plate-out is affected by several kinds of factors which cover oil volume, water volume, density, mixing level, velocity inside mixer, water seal, water temp., kind of oil, emulsion stability and so forth. So far as we know, almost all customers make it a rule to adjust the oil volume by turning variable resistor (VR) manually when they want to change the plate-out. Sometimes they change a kind of lubricant by taking a lot of time with hard task, pursuing load down. Other reasons this way is old remains, based on incorrect thought, namely the volume of plate-out is decided by the absolute quantity of lubricant in the water mixed, therefore water is only carrier for lubricant. At present this way has proved to be its limit in many cases. The volume of plate-out depends on not only the quantity of lubricant in the water mixed but also flow rate of water, mixing level, water temp., water seal capability, emulsion stability and so on. Among the mixing grade proves to be one of the most important factors for the plate-out. Through our experience perfect match for oil and mixer is essential for maximum plate-out with even nozzle spray. Too much emulsion stability is also not so good for plate-out. Letfs take up a concrete example to explain it.




At the commissioning stage of new hot rolling oil system we often experience that there is little plate-out on the roll surface without road down even if oil is increased twice as expected volume.

Condition : Water flow rate 40 liter/min per header
Oil flow rate 0.08 liter/min
Density 0.2 percent

Through our investigation in detail, we have found out that the water flow rate is too much by 30 percent¥¥¥¥¥52 liter/min due to some reason. By decreasing it to less than 40 liter/min, you are able to achieve the expected result for plate-out. This is one example that the water volume through injection mixer is deeply connected with plate-out rather than the oil volume in the water or density in this case. You must not decrease the water volume without a theoretical or experimental basis. If you decrease it too much, unbalanced spray at each nozzle in density is done. Trouble such as skidding, banding and nozzle clogging probably will be occurred. To solve those problems, that is to say, you need the concrete indication for best plate-out, TOYO-SUN D¥D KITwill be usefull by measuring transparency numbers through the emulsion which consists of the density and mixing grade (emulsification level)
